Akala Malamya : Golden Era ng Presyo

Akala Malamya's song debut release is entitled "Golden Era ng Presyo". It is a witty, satirical take on rising prices and everyday economic struggles in the Philippines.  Through humor and exaggerated imagery -- like onions with “security guards” and grocery receipts worth framing -- it highlights how basic goods have become increasingly unaffordable while wages remain stagnant.  The playful tone contrasts sharply with the serious reality it describes.

It also critiques how economic issues are often downplayed in media and official narratives.  Lines about “PowerPoint graphs” and “konti lang ‘yan” suggest a disconnect between reported progress and lived experience, while the chorus mocks the idea of a “golden era” where only prices seem to shine.

Despite its comedic delivery, the song carries an underlying frustration and disbelief.  It reflects the resilience of ordinary people trying to cope -- through side hustles, budgeting, and humor -- while questioning whether the promised progress is truly being felt or if it’s just an illusion.
